THIS IS THE BEFORE AND AFTER EFFECT OF THE BANTU KNOTS THAT REDEFINES YOUR NATURAL, NATURAL CURL. This process is simple and cause no damage to your hair. However it is detrimental that you allow your hair to fully air dry or blow dry. There's no rushing with this technique. Otherwise, you will end up looking like one soggy jheri curl mess and THIS wouldn't be a good look!!!
How to do BANTU KNOTS:
1. Wash your hair and deep condition it. I recommend using L'Oreal's leave in conditioner to keep your hair soften, protected, and secure. Do not over kill, too much of anything is not good. Plus as you start the bantu knots you can apply more as you go.
2. The more bantu knots the more curly and the less means more of a blow out look with a controlled wave. I prefer more curls and than pluck it out to create the blow out look. Next part the hair, starting at the root twist the hair firmly toward the end until it twirls up. As it twirls position it to form a knot by wrapping it as one. Taking the very end of the hair and placing it around the base of the twist. It should stay securely without untwirling, otherwise, your not twisting it tight enough.
3. Hair dryer is optional, but I always let my hair air dry for a full day. Using a lightweight gloss or serum gently unrival the knots. I use Kiwi blow dry silk, it's about $15 bucks but it's smells really good and leaves your hair looking healthy. After fully taking the knots out, you will see the defining curl that I am talking about. Everyone's hair texture is different and depending on your hair, plucking too much can result in a frizzy and bushy look. You have to be the judge of that, but either way it can work for you as it has worked for me.
