This is me for Halloween in a costume self designed with no pattern just good eyesight and a vivid idea. I knew exactly what I wanted to wear. I wanted an "Army Spandex Leotard" and so I set out on a mission for just that. I bought 1 yard of spandex, an army badge, and a few accessories. Than I worked my magic cutting my fabric to replicate the shape of an old bathing suit, I recreated that same idea and copied what I saw to form the shape of the leotard. From a simple sewing class at UMES, I learned the basics of using a sewing machine. How to sew straight and how to finish a seam! I applied what I previously learned and added my own style with a button tasseled at the shoulders, a strapped on pocket belt, and sewn on my badge. With black tights and patent leather black Dr. Martin's my look was all complete, not to mention the dark purple lips. I almost looked like a Black G.I. Jane minus the bald head ! I think we need to give ourselves more credit and start applying these natural abilities to teach ourselves what we dont know. I think I'm ready to go on to the next level, now I just need the proper instructor to teach me the techniques and skills to make this all profitable. Please dont be hesitant to share your advice!!!
